A mobile welding company was performing welding pre-heats on a large shovel bucket at a Copper Mine in Northern Canada. With winter conditions using propane torches were simply too time-consuming and labor-intensive. Their client requested them to use electrical resistance heating, because they also found that the process extended the bucket life expectancy.
Solution
While electrical resistance consoles had been previously used by other contractors, they were looking for something self-contained and portable. Working with our vendors we were able to build a custom mobile heat treatment rig suited to their needs and provide them with the on-site training to support their team.
