Problem

A pipeline contractor was trying to maintain it’s competitiveness and profitability in the SAGD pipeline construction sector.  With costs of third-party contracting of cold-cutting and welding pre-heat on the rise, they determined that they wanted to start self-performing these tasks rather than subcontract the work.

 

Solution

We entered into discussions with the contractor to assess one of their upcoming projects and determined that we could partner with them to provide rental cold-cutting equipment, and HeatView wireless controlled portable heat treatment rigs.  We then laid out an execution plan to train their employees on proper use of the equipment, and help their operation develop procedures to satisfy their client requirements for documentation.  With our support and commitment to their success, they went onto complete many projects and significantly increased both their margins, and volume of work.
